Call for Volunteers to help shape the future of the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust
With Covid-19 lockdowns hopefully behind us, many people are getting back out of the house and into society. If you are the type of person who wants to make the best use of their free time have you considered volunteering?
The Trust are holding an informal event at 6pm on Monday 4 October for anybody interested in volunteering.
If would like to join for a chat please email hello@buxtoncrescenttrust.org or RSVP here on the event here.
The Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust runs The Buxton Crescent Visitor Experience, the Pump Room tourist Information Centre and up to 60 events yearly in The Assembly Rooms. The Trust is looking for volunteers who have a love of history and heritage, or a passion for Buxton and the Peak District to come forward and share their time. Volunteering is a rewarding and enjoyable experience allowing you to learn, make friends, and be part of something special (and it looks brilliant on your CV!).
Ben Offord, Head of Volunteering at The Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust said that, “Volunteering with the Trust is win-win for the volunteer and our organisation. Volunteers genuinely enjoy sharing their interests with the public, using their skills and gaining experience, while at The Trust we access skills and time we might not otherwise be able to.“
volunteers are able to become trained tour guides, work in visitor services in the Pump Room or events in The Crescent Assembly Rooms. There is also the chance to be involved with learning and group visits, research, marketing, administration and light maintenance or restoration projects. Volunteering roles are flexible and there is no minimum or maximum number of hours to commit.
