Buxton Field Club’s final two events of the Summer:
The ground is rocky and uneven in places, so care may need to be taken, but there are only fairly gentle inclines. The walk is expected to take an hour.
We will climb up a delightful flag stone path out of Bonsall and explore the surrounding areas of Bonsall, upper town and Brightgate. Our walk takes in some interesting and fascinating lead mining sites, flowers, grasses and stunning views! Much of our walk is along the Limestone way, an official walking route from Rocester to Castleton. We return to Bonsall for welcome refreshment at the Fountain cafe if required! Approximate distance 4.5 miles, say 3 hours max and approximately 230 m of ascent.
And for people who may fancy a trip out but may find 4.5 miles a bit much, there is an option just to go to the Cascade Gardens https://cascadesgardens.com/garden-to-visit-derbyshire/
