The Delta Variant of COVID-19 is becoming the dominant variant within Derbyshire and as such, it has been recognized that people testing positive with Delta may have other symptoms aside from a high temperature, cough or loss/change of sense of smell and taste.
Additional symptoms such as:
Stomach ache Loss of appetite
Sore Throat Diarrhoea
Headaches Feeling or being sick
Runny Nose Feeling Drowsy
Sneezing Tiredness
Joint Pain Muscle Aches
Generally feeling poorly
If anyone in your family has any of the symptoms above, you should book a PCR test but you do not need to self-isolate until you get the result if you are PCR testing because of one the symptoms above. However, if the result is positive, you and your close contacts must self-isolate immediately.
You do need to self-isolate while waiting for test results if you have one of the main symptoms – high temperature, cough or loss/change of sense of smell and taste.
