Covid-19 cases are continuing to rise in Buxton especially in the 20-29 and 30-39 year age groups. The walk-in test cnetre is back on The Prom in Pavilion Gardens, opposite the swimming pool on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm, until 30 July 2021.
The home test kits are only 60% reliable however, so if you are displaying any symptoms at all, isolate and arrange to get a more accurate PCR test as soon as possible.
Getting your vaccine when it’s offered to you is also important. All adults over 18 can book a vaccination so to book, click here or by calling NHS 119.
Anyone who has been contacted by test & trace or with any of the three main symptoms of Covid-19 must self-isolate immediately for 10 days, even if your home testing kit says you are negative. The three main symptoms are:
• A new, continuous cough
• A high temperature
• A loss or change to their sense of smell or taste
44.8 million first dose vaccinations have been administered with just under 50% of the UK population fully vaccinated, which is a true credit to the vaccination programme. However, a fully vaccinated person can still get and spread the disease so we must continue to test ourselves regularly in order to keep covid cases to a minimum.
