Are there any of our Facebook Friends (or friends of friends) who are confident, competent and capable of helping us to make an exciting environmentally-themed project come to life?? It is all about supporting and raising awareness of our local bumblebee, the Bilberry, which is on the verge of extinction in the UK.
In partnership with Jean Ball and Frances Sussex of Transition Buxton, we have taken possession of a donated bumblebee sculpture, similar to those used by community groups in the 2018 Manchester “Bee in the City” Trail. It is currently bare and naked grey fibreglass and it needs to bee a stunning and vibrant visual spectacle!!
We have got information about the paints and protection, but it is a community-minded Artist that we really need to make this happen. The bee, once finished will be hosted by Friends of Buxton Station in our Japanese Garden, but it will play a very active community role, being taken out for local events.
Attached is a very ROUGH and poorly drawn design idea, but nothing is fixed, we would appreciate some artistic design guidance and input.
Fingers crossed that you know “just the right person!”
