We’ve had a check in with Buxton Medical Practice today (09/02/2021) following the announcement last night that over 70’s can book their own vaccines now. BMP have said it is expected that in Buxton all eligible* over 70’s will receive a text or phone call offering them a vaccine appointment for this Friday at Buxton’s Vaccination Centre in the next day or two.
It is advised that staying close to home, especially in this weather, will be better than travelling to a larger vaccination centre, and while BMP are only given a few days notice of when they are receiving vaccine’s so far there have been weekly clinics, and hopefully this will continue.
If you are over 70, cannot get online, and have not had a vaccine by Friday afternoon, and do not want to wait for the next BMP clinic, volunteers will be available to help book a test, just let us know.
Another update will be shared on Friday afternoon.
if you have had COVID in the last 28 days you cannot have a vaccine.
People who are house bound are also being vaccinated at home this week.
If you fit into either of the above groups but do not have a phone your appointment may be delayed as the surgeries will need to write to you instead.
