Important information about the booking link for covid-19 vaccination appointments –
With an increase in vaccine-related scams, we understand patients look for ‘nhs.uk‘ links as a sign that they are legitimate but which may be a scam.
When the NHS contacts you you will ONLY be asked for a date of birth when booking the appointment and no other personal information.
One Buxton Street by Street Volunteer Jenny has the following advice after receiving the below scam email ….
-
Nowhere is my name mentioned, only my email.
-
Note the sender email, which is nothing “official.
-
Note the time limit given to make appointments. I clicked (perhaps stupidly so) on a link to look at their webpage, which then required more personal information from me, which the NHS and agencies thereof would know. The website was fake but looked like it could be an NHS one.
