The Billerettes ask.. Will you support Alan Thompson’s Challenge?.
The Billerettes have just donated £500 from their Charity Reserve funds to “Alan’s Challenge”.
Why Alan’s Challenge? Alan set himself his challenge to help those in our community who due to “Covid” restrictions, are finding life increasingly desperate, to simply survive. Food banks are more and more essential, befriending services for the lonely, Transportation for those needing to attend hospital appointments, Etc..
Alan decided he would go that extra mile to hopefully inspire people. He set himself a target , to try and raise £25.000 to help two local organisations who are ‘on the front line’ in helping during this crisis , Connex (previously known as the ‘Volunteer Bureau’) and ‘Street by Street’ who go out and call on those in need to see what help is needed.
His actual challenge, although aged 75 years, is to Cycle down the 19 most difficult mountain cycle tracks in Derbyshire, a challenge that would take some weeks to achieve, and a lot of stamina.
Alan has already been supported by some Local Firms and individuals, but has a long way to go to reach his target, he is putting his life on the line, will you help, please every bit counts.
To help go to…….Alan’s Challenge
Last week his challenge was to brought to a temporary halt when having completed his day’s run while returning now on the road home he was in collision with a van. He is currently recuperating but will be back on the challenge as soon as possible .
