Yesterday Alan reached the half way point on his epic challenge, though he still seems to be managing to keep pretty clean – despite the mud and rain we’ve seen recently! Here’s Alan’s thought’s before he started his half way challenge….
‘Today I’m at Hayfield, the start of the High Peak Circuit, Ride 10 of Alans Challenge – half way of 19 YIPPEE’
The book describes this as a demanding excursion. EXCURSION, it includes killer climbs and equally killer moorland tracks. Never far from civilization, never the less it can feel very wild and tough on the legs. Even though it is only 26Km it is an EPIC. Think nice thoughts of us whilst we are slogging it out here.
This ride is only one of the 19 of the most difficult mountain bike rides in the Peak District which I am doing to raise funds for Connex & BSBS who provide vital services to the disadvantaged people of Buxton and The Peak District. Please go to the Just Giving page on my website – alans-challenge.org.uk and donate whatever you can afford, thank you!
Here’s a short video Street by Street Coordinators made a couple of weeks ago to help show how his hard work is helping the community.
Since then the shifting sands of Covid-19 have shifted one more, and we feel support from neighbours and friends will be even more necessary in the days ahead.
Good luck to Alan as he continues his challenge – to raise funds to help us to keep helping you.
