WE NEED HELP
As the impact of the Corona Virus on our community begins to be understood it is clear the support needed for the health, wellbeing and welfare of the people of Buxton and the High Peak is enormous. Organisations delivering voluntary and paid for services will be overwhelmed if we do not help them and to do that we need to raise funds.
RIDING OUT OF LOCKDOWN
The Peak District National Park presents some of the most challenging terrain for mountain bikers in England. As a focus of the fund raising, Alan Thompson aged 75, inspired by Captain Tom, will attempt to ride all 19 Enduros, described in Peak Trails as big, tough rides … challenging routes that you might describe as a bit of a beast. Alan’s plan is to literally GET ON HIS BIKE to try and get us all motivated to raise money to help our community whilst bringing attention, publicity and hopefully much needed visitor numbers to the stunning area in which we live.
HELP US TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY
The intention is to raise the funding to help our community agencies continue with their great work and create a website dedicated to connecting people, businesses and our volunteer agencies. A true community portal to provide information to everyone about the new circumstances we find ourselves in and help us navigate our way through this new and challenging world together. You can help by sponsoring a ride, spreading the word, offering support to help in our fundraising efforts or simply making a donation.
