This is a free event to be able to win yoga goodies including equipment and free yoga classes (online for the moment).
Accidental Yogis is running a scavenger hunt with a twist! No yoga experience required! 🙂
So grab the kids, your partner, or someone else at a socially acceptable distance and lets walk and yoga our way to peace and wellbeing 🙂
WHATS THE PLAN?
Due to popularity this event now covers BOTH Saturday and Sunday. At midday on Saturday 20th June, this event page will have a post with clues as to where rocks are hidden throughout Grinlow Woods in Buxton. Starting at Pooles Cavern Carpark and ending at Soloman’s Temple you will find 7 rocks on the well trodden path. Each holding a letter to a jumbled up, but well known word (in yoga anyway…) you need to enter the competition. Just ‘check- in’ and send me a private message with this word to be in a chance at winning!
Not great at anagrams? Just ‘check-in’ to the Facebook page Accidental Yogis with a photo of you trying one of the yoga poses featured on a rock (don’t panic, there’s nothing too complicated on there!) to be in with a chance at winning too!
Not the lucky sort? Tag us with a pic on Facebook or Instagram (or a photo collage if you want to get creative) on Facebook or Instagram of you trying all 7 yoga poses and you can have 2 free yoga classes. Boom! 😀
*Rocks are designed to be easily read without the need for picking them up, so please do not touch (for COVID reasons and in case they wander and spoil the fun).
HOW MUCH IS IT?
Completely free. The car park is £2 for 4 hours or £3 all day. There is free parking on the road close by.
WHERE IS IT?
Based in Grinlow Woods in Buxton. The starting point is Pooles Cavern Carpark (SK17 9DH) and the end point is Solomans Temple. There are different routes to get back to where you started or just come back the way you came. It’s a well known route with lots of sign posts.
Join in whenever you like from Saturday midday. The event will end on Sunday at 8pm. Currently the weather looks a bit sketchy on Saturday, but a good option if you can’t do Sunday 🙂
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
– Your mobile phone – to see the clues on the event, take pics, make notes of the letters on the rocks, and ‘check in’ on Facebook.
– Suitable clothing and footwear for whatever the weather- Buxton can be often be its own microclimate and a touch chilly sometimes. definitely breezy up by Solomans Temple.
– A sense of fun and exploration for the walk itself. A beautiful woodland ending with a panoramic view of the beautiful Peak District.
– How long will it take?
If you walk at a fast pace without a yoga trail to play with, it will take about 20minutes. Doing the trail and perhaps with kids along – maybe give it 1 -2 hours.
– When will I know if I’ve won a prize?
Accidental Yogis will post on the event page and the main Facebook and Instagram pages on the evening of the Sunday. Winners will be picked at random and announced on Facebook and Instagram.
