Advice from Chesterfield Charity Pet Samaritans for helping hoglet’s –
Please be extremely vigilant when clearing debris from your garden over the coming months as hedgehog breeding season is in full swing.
If a hedgehog nest is disturbed or damaged it will very likely lead to devastating consequences for the hoglets if no action is taken.
If a nest is accidentally disturbed and you see the mum please catch her straight away, pop her in a box with some of the nesting material and then go back for the babies. Ideally wear disposable gloves when handling the young and handle as little as possible.
Once all the family is secure give your local wildlife rescue a call.
