The new Buxton Coronavirus Assessment Hub, have seen and treated the first few patients already.
The Hub, one of a growing number across the country, pools resources across our local GP Practices and enables us to safely assess and treat Coronavirus patients in a separate environment from those without symptoms. The attached diagram shows which patients will be seen, and how they will be triaged for an invitation to the Assessment Hub.
Please remember that this hub is by invitation ONLY, and drop-ins WILL be turned away. Anyone with either a cough or high temperature should follow the government guidance and self isolate at home for 7 days (household members should isolate for 14 days, or until 7 days after their own symptoms develop). DO NOT go to the Assessment Hub, to hospital or your GP Practice. You do not need to tell us if you have symptoms.
If your symptoms become unmanageable at home, please visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 or call 111. Depending on how ill you are, they may send you straight to hospital OR advise that you need to be treated by your own GP. If this is the case you will be asked to speak to your On Call GP who will then book you in to be seen at the Coronavirus Assessment Hub. Nationally, patients are being asked to contact 111 before they call their GP in order to avoid overwhelming GP Practices with calls.
