Local business-woman Carmel Gray of http://outdoorgenius.co.uk/, has set up this essential food delivery service after she identified a burgeoning need as she explains here:
‘Hi guys, this is a service for people in Buxton who are self isolating, or vulnerable and can’t get out. It’s mostly non perishable goods as there are lots of other local businesses delivering milk, fruit and veg etc, but we felt this filled a bit of a gap for those struggling to get out – especially older people on their own or in couples. It’s being run on a very local level for Buxton and on a non-profit making basis.
We will aim to include items as listed on the flyer but as you can appreciate, things may vary slightly depending on supply’

Pomeroy Caravan Park: As of 12pm today, our milk vending machine is open!
We sell fresh pasteurised whole milk, from our own dairy herd.
You can bring your own bottle, or buy one of ours! In the other machine, you can purchase glass bottles, plastic bottles, and our own free range eggs.
It is open 24 hours a day, so perfect to avoid those supermarket queues!
At the moment the milk vending machine only takes coins, and does not give change. The carousel machine takes notes, and you can buy bottles with change attached so you can still buy your lovely fresh milk!
No card payments at this time unfortunately- we are working on it!
Please come and support us in our new venture!

Joseph Torkington Tutoring:
Following the widespread school closures brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, I have set up a very affordable tutoring service for those of you who are still looking for educational assistance, especially with regards to exam prep et al.
Due to these exceptional circumstances, I am offering services at a price not normally found in the tutoring industry.
I am a former student at Buxton Community School and am now reading Philosophy and Theology at the University of St Andrews. I have informal experience tutoring locally and I am a registered tutor with MyTutor.
I offer a free consulting session in which we discuss what I offer as a tutor, my aims and my strategies in order to help you make an informed decision on whether you’d like to proceed with my tutoring service.
I tutor GCSE English literature, history, and religious studies, and A Level English Literature and Philosophy.
If this does at all interest you, please do not hesitate to touch base with me on my page.
